THE DESIGN EVOLUTION

Saffron Routes, aims to evoke the unexpected in consumers through its innovative spice blends. We take inspiration from the rich and diverse culinary traditions of India, combining familiar spices in unimagined ways to create exquisite flavour experiences.

Our brand voice is inspired by the ancient tales and fables of India, where stories come alive with vibrant characters and unexpected twists. Just as these stories transport you to a world of wonder, Saffron Routes invites you to embark on a culinary journey filled with surprising and delightful flavour combinations. Our design reflects the spirit of exploration and discovery. We use bold colors, evocative imagery, and captivating typography to tell the story of our spices and inspire you to create your own culinary masterpieces.

Saffron Routes takes inspiration from ancient colonial approach, but with a distinctly Indian twist. Each of our spice blends tells a unique story, and our packaging design is an invitation to embark on a culinary adventure. Saffron Routes uses illustrated drop capitals to depict elements of the flavour profile, helping you anticipate a taste theme before even opening the jar.

THE DESIGN EVOLUTION

Alongside are representations of the elements of the labels, and the different lockups of the branding.

We wanted to have different lockups for the label to allow for versatility, especially because this brand would engage with multiple quantity packages. Above is the version that is in used as on the glass jar.

The packaging illustration has a seamless feel with the label, with a lot more of the elements on the two halves along with the mandatory information.

The writing

The language aims to spark the reader's imagination and invite them on a culinary journey. The writing weaves elements of storytelling into the descriptions, using spices as the narrators of their journey and the flavors they represent. This approach creates a connection between the product and the consumer through a shared narrative.

Social media & Website

The brand communication is varied where it’s a combination of photography, historic elements, textures and graphic cut outs. The goal is to make sure that there is a variety in content but still ties up as a cohesive brand with one voice.

An e-commerce business, the website became the first critical touchpoint for sales. We created an experience that brought alive the wonder of imagination, whilst giving their unique product range the spotlight to enable quick sales.
